Alex Foard is the Senior Director of the Bay Area Council China Initiative, providing guidance and business development support to business around California as they expand to China. He also leads the Bay Area Council international trade partnership with the State of California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development. Over the last decade, Alex has driven a number Bay Area Council Initiatives to success, from gubernatorial delegations to china, to forming new joint venture partnerships, to academic partnerships between major universities in China and the Bay Area.
Alex graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia with majors in econometrics and international relations. His professional history in China began in 2008 at Shui On Land during the development of the Wuhan Tian Di live/work project in the Hubei Province. Since then, he has spent eight years living part-time in China and San Francisco working in Chinese government relations, Bay Area public policy, economic reporting, and corporate partnerships.
